Federal Contractor Misconduct Database

Click here for the Project on Government Oversight's Federal Contractor Misconduct Database.

In addition to histories on particular contractors, the site has useful links and shows how special interests influence government procurement decisions.  Links of interest include:
  • The Sunlight Foundation, which states it is "a non-profit, nonpartisan organization that uses the power of the Internet to catalyze greater government openness and transparency, and provides new tools and resources for media and citizens, alike."
  • OpenSecrets.org, which states it is the "nation's premier research group tracking money in U.S. politics and its effect on elections and public policy."
  • Pentagon Travel, which has an robust and searchable database to see who is funding travel for DoD officials.  (I performed searches related to some of our military health care fraud investigations.  While the database is still being built and has data only up to 2007, this site has the potential to be a very powerful research tool.)
